Guillaume Poncet-Montange, Pharm.D., Ph.D.
Associate Director, Head of Protein Technologies & Structural Biology

Guillaume Poncet-Montange is an associate director in the Center for the Development of Therapeutics (CDoT) at the ӳý of MIT and Harvard, where he is a member of the drug discovery leadership team for which he serves as head of protein technologies and structural biology. With a proven track record in drug discovery team leadership, Poncet-Montange has successfully advanced therapeutic programs to clinical stages in partnership with ӳý pharmaceutical industry partners. A co-founder of LUDI Therapeutics, Poncet-Montange has worked across multiple therapeutic areas, including muscle regeneration, neurodegenerative diseases (prion proteins), oncology/immuno-oncology, and infectious diseases, employing both small molecules and biologics.
Poncet-Montange conducts detailed mechanistic studies that are needed to define fundamental structure-function relationships in pharmacological proteins, and to design the next generation of drugs with an understanding of their mechanisms of action. His core interests include structure-function of therapeutic targets, small molecule structure-based drug design, nanobody biologics, leveraging protein science, X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, cheminformatics, bioinformatics, biophysics, biochemistry, and innovative drug discovery technologies.
Before joining the ӳý, Poncet-Montange leveraged his expertise in pharmaceutical research and structural biology to achieve notable collaborations and scientific discoveries at Orthogon Therapeutics and the MD Anderson Cancer Center (Therapeutics Discovery Center). He holds a Pharm.D. from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III and a Ph.D. in structural biology from the University of Montpellier 1. His postdoctoral research was conducted at the University of Montpellier 2 and later at the University of California, San Francisco in the lab of Nobel Laureate Stanley Prusiner.
