JoaquÃn Pérez-Schindler is a research scientist II in the lab of Melina Claussnitzer at the Metabolism Program of the Ó³»´«Ã½ of MIT and Harvard. He joined the Claussnitzer lab in 2022. His work focuses on defining the functional effect of genetic and environmental factors in the development of metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes.
In 2013, he was awarded a Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Wellcome Trust (UK) to work at the University of Birmingham (UK) and the Scripps Research Institute (USA).
Prior to joining the Ó³»´«Ã½, Pérez-Schindler obtained a Ph.D. in cellular biology at the University of Basel in 2013.
