Welcome to the new ӳ����ýMinded blog, a forum for disseminating the science, culture, and life of the ӳ����ý.

This blog is a place for interactive learning about the science underway here at the ӳ����ý. Our research spans an astonishing breadth and depth, from decoding the genetic blueprint of a fungus that’s decimating the world’s frog populations to screening thousands of chemicals in the hope of uncovering one that could become a drug to treat depression.

Yet all of our work, regardless of its particular focus, is joined by a common goal: solving critical problems in biology and medicine. We don’t just study humans, we’re interested in the furry (i.e. mammals) and slimy (i.e. bacteria) critters, too, as well as everything in between. Simply put, it’s all connected.

Beyond the straight-up science, this blog is also a window into the ӳ����ý as an organization: who and what make us tick, and the approaches we use to tackle even the most difficult scientific problems. After all, the ӳ����ý itself is an experiment — a test of how to effectively organize biomedical research in the 21st century.

Reflecting the unique, collaborative community that is the ӳ����ý, you have the opportunity to “hear” from — and respond to — a variety of contributors throughout this blog. While these voices are integral to the diverse and vibrant culture that permeates our organization, please note that any views expressed are the blog contributors’ alone, and do not necessarily reflect those of the ӳ����ý.
