Abstract | Maintenance of genomic integrity is critical for the survival of organisms. Thus, mammalian cells employ a complex DNA damage response that can sense and repair DNA damage. One important aspect of the cellular DNA damage response is the activation of checkpoints that result in cell cycle arrest. In this chapter we present methods for the induction of genotoxic stress. Additionally, we describe methods for studying the progression of cells from G(1) to S phase after genotoxic stress. |
