We are particularly interested in the factors which drive inter- and intra- individual variation in the human brain and the functional consequences of gene-dosage imbalance. To this end, we use human iPSC models coupled with gene-editing, screening, and single-cell -omics approaches to dissect mechanisms relevant for human development. Our long-term goal is to leverage molecular and cellular insights to better understand brain development and dysfunction, and to ultimately employ these insights to improve human health.

Please join us! Our work sits at the intersection of neurobiology, stem cell biology and human genetics. Interested candidates are encouraged to reach out to lbarrett@broadinstitute.org.
