ӳ����ý

Daniel Kohn was the ӳ����ý’s founding artist-in-residence. Following an invitation from ӳ����ý chief scientific officer Todd Golub, he returned in 2012 and created “Instance of a visual dataset,” as part of the ӳ����ý Creative year-long celebration of art and science. As a result of his interaction with the ӳ����ý community, his work now explores the place of science and the structures we use to understand our world.

Kohn’s ӳ����ý commission explored genomics using visual metaphor. He described the installation as “the product of eight years of exposure, discussion, disagreement, and collaboration with ӳ����ý scientists.” Kohn’s work “Instance of a visual dataset” is installed on all floors of ӳ����ý’s 415 Main building.
