Building communities
Global partnerships are essential to addressing the world's most pressing — and complex — biological and medical challenges. At the Ó³»´«Ã½, researchers create, steward, and partner in international collaborations with scientists around the world. We work with researchers and patients to tackle important challenges in biomedicine and find innovative, high-impact solutions. Learn more about #HowWeScience.
Global Alliance for Genomics and Health
Collaborating internationally to create standards to effectively store, share, analyze, and protect genomic and clinical data
Large-scale genomic datasets can accelerate scientific discoveries, enable new insights into disease, and advance precision medicine in the clinic. Yet data often live in silos, separated by disease area, institution, or country, making them difficult to combine and analyze. In 2014, scientists at the Ó³»´«Ã½ helped launch the as a coordinated effort to enable sharing around this explosion of data. Collaborating with teams around the world, GA4GH builds on the human right to benefit from science by creating standards and policy frameworks for data representation, storage, analysis, security, and more. Such standards will allow researchers and clinicians to analyze massive amounts of disparate genomic information simultaneously, furthering the study of disease biology.
