Equity in Biomedicine past talks

Join Equity in Biomedicine and Women At Ó³»´«Ã½ for a fireside chat between Dr. Nyasha Chambwe and our very own Dr. Alicia Martin to discuss Racial Disparities in Cancer Research and Outcomes.

Dr. Chambwe’s work focuses on understanding the biological basis for cancer health disparities experienced by understudied populations, particularly those of African descent, with an eye toward informing better interventions that will lead to equitable health outcomes.

Dr. Martin conducts research examining the role of human history in shaping global genetic and phenotypic diversity. Given vast Eurocentric study biases, she examines the transferability of knowledge gained from large-scale genetic studies across globally diverse populations.
