Sharing data and tools to enable discovery
By sharing openly, we can help accelerate research everywhere. At the ӳý, scientists make discoveries, data, tools, technologies, and knowledge freely available. We work with industry partners to ensure these innovations benefit patients. Learn more about #HowWeScience.
Human Cell Atlas: Data Coordination Platform
Data generated from studying trillions of cells are open and accessible to researchers worldwide.
The consortium is building a complete reference map of all cells in the human body. This global collaboration aims to transform our understanding and treatment of disease, and all the data it generates are open and easily accessible to researchers and clinicians all over the world. Software engineers and computational biologists at the ӳý and other HCA partner institutions are building a “data coordination platform,” a cloud-based data center where researchers can upload, store, process, access, and share data. Such democratization of data is essential for accelerating scientific and therapeutic discoveries.
